The first symptoms of the disease were observed in 2014 when disturbances in the hepatogram was noticed, and during hospitalization at the CCS Gastroenterology and Hepatology Clinic in August 2021, she was diagnosed with  K83.0 Cholangitis /PSC/Cirrhosis hepatitis and primary biliary cirrhosis (K74. 3 Cirrhosis biliaris primaria). Since then, Ljiljana's race with time and daily pains and the constant accelerated progression of the disease has begun. In addition, Ljiljana has the following diagnoses: I85.9 Varices oesophagei "small"; K76.6 Hypertensio portalis; K29.5 Gastritis antralis, gastropathia portalis hypertensiva; D73.1 Hyperspelenism sec; I84.2 Haemorrhides interhae sin complicatibus; K91.5 Syndrome after cholecystectomy; K29.8 Duodenitis erosive and M81.9 Osteoporosis.

After being diagnosed in 2021, she was presented to the Liver Transplantation Council and put on the waiting list. After that, she went for regular check-ups, and if necessary, she was kept in the hospital due to her poor health. In the period from 6 December 2022 to 9 January 2023 she was hospitalized for re-evaluation for a liver transplant to remain on the waiting list.

The plan for further treatment is a liver transplantation from a living donor (father or mother) in Croatia at Clinical Hospital Merkur, where Ljiljana had already undergone examinations and consultations and the hospital accepted her as a transplant candidate.

She needs funds for a liver transplantation and the costs of hospital treatment abroad, as well as for travelling and accommodation costs during the treatment.
