Humanitarian Foundation BUDI HUMAN - Aleksandar Šapić
raises funds for Dragiša Milenović (1982).
Dragiša is a great fighter who’s tending to fill his days with jokes - though he has been battling with wicked melanoma, a skin tumor for nearly three years, which unfortunately metastasized to the brain at the end of 2019.
After two operations, in late August 2017, Dragiša went on a UN humanitarian mission to the Central African Republic with doctors of the Serbian Armed Forces as a chef. Unfortunately, after a month and a half he returned to continue treatment for new symptoms of the disease appeared. Since then he has had six surgeries at the Military Medical Academy and has got two different immunotherapies.
Due to the nature of the disease, Dragiša has developed intolerance to the sun, and due to metastases, he has difficulty with moving, with severe back pain and dizziness.
The first cycle of head radiation combined with Keytruda immunotherapy was completed at the end of February 2020. In order to be more effective with a greater chance of recovery, treatment demands another immune medicine, available abroad. The costs of therapy are significant and financially unbearable for the family.
Since the beginning of his battle, Dragiša has had generous support from family, friends and colleagues, and now he is asking all the humane people to help him get the best therapy and emerge victorious from this battle. His positive spirit and energy are what motivates us because he exemplifies how important it is not to give up in the most difficult situations.
