Tadija was born with a cleft spine, spina bifida and was transferred to University Children’s Hospital Tiršova, where the first operation was performed, half an hour after birth. When he was just seven days old he had surgery for hydrocephalus, when a small pump was installed to regulate excess cerebrospinal fluid.

The agony continued with three more revisions in the next nine months. At the age of two, a new complication occurred - the descent of the cerebellum into the funnel part of the spinal column, when his life was endangered so he had urgent surgery. The postoperative course went through a number of problems, but Tadija is a true fighter and a few months after surgery, he began to stand on his feet and take some steps with a support.

At the age of five, an orthopedist found out that both his hip joints were dislocated. Considering that he had been using his hands for support and moving, the doctor did not suggest surgery until the end of 2017, Tadija began to take a few independent steps. This was an indicator for hip operations that followed in March and April 2018. After a painful postoperative course, a rehab period and a spa treatment, Tadija reached the rehabilitation phase.

Nowadays, after 10 surgeries, Tadija goes to school regularly, he is a favorite in his class and is greatly supported and motivated by his classmates.

Every step in the way for Tadija is a huge step forward for the family in overcoming the day-to-day problems they face. In order to stand on his feet and have a childhood and growing up like other children,Tadija  needs funds for orthopedic aids such as silicone orthoses, rehabilitation in spas, speech therapy and defectology treatments, medical supplies, wheelchairs, as well as physiotherapy treatments which contributed the most his improvement.
