Kosta suffers from a severe and rare form of myoclonic epilepsy, Dravet's syndrome, SMEI, caused by the mutation in the SCN1A gene.

He was born after regular pregnancy and his development proceeded completely normally until the fifth month, when he had the first epileptic seizure.

This type of epilepsy is characterized by different types of seizures of different intensity and duration, some of which can be life-threatening for several hours, for that reason Kosta was often in the hospital, at the Intensive Care Unit. Seizures can not be controlled by medicines, because this is a pharmacoresistant type of disease.

The seizures can be triggered by any stimulus from outside and due to the unpredictability, frequency and intensity of the seizure, Kosta spends his childhood in restrictive, strictly closed and isolated conditions.

In addition to the basic diseases, Kosta also suffers from a mild mental retardation, he has patterns of behavior from the autistic spectrum, which led to developmental disorders that made it difficult for him to perform daily activities.

Funds are needed to provide Kosta with adequate care, encouragement for further development and improvement of living conditions, which requires specialist examinations, treatments and therapies through continuous and intensive work with a special educator, speech therapist, psychologist, physiatrist, dentist and nutritionist.
