raises funds for Branislav Bokan (2017).

 

Branislav was diagnosed with hydrocephalus before he was born. The first complications occurred when he had the first epileptic seizure only a few months after birth, when magnetic resonance imaging detected agenesis corpus callosum , i.e. a partial lack of a neural connection (bridge) between the left and right hemispheres of the brain.

 

The boy soon had brain surgery, during which the neurosurgeon in Bratislava did not want to install a shunt, but made a so-called communication opening. After that, Branislav progressed for a while, but the pressure in his head appeared very quickly, which none of the doctors and physiotherapists with whom the child was in contact registered. In July 2018, he went into a coma after which he had two brain surgeries, one after the other, during which he was implanted with a shunt. All the time, he constantly had epileptic seizures, which were stabilized only recently, by  the new  therapy.

 

After a visit to the rehabilitation center for cerebral palsy in Novi Sad, a new chapter in Branislav's little life began.  Regular daily exercise with the goal of first bringing his condition to a positive level, and then to start making more serious progress. His struggle has just begun. It is necessary for him to have intensive cognitive and physical therapy every day.

 

During the neurologist’s examination  in Novi Sad, Branislav was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, quadriplegia. He does not see, speak or walk and his communication with the environment is  poor, but he knows how to smile, be ashamed and he adores music. His favorite words are "love" and "bravo".

 

Branislav needs funds for physical therapies, treatment in spas, for specialist  examinations in the country and abroad, he also needs funds to cover the costs of accommodation during rehabilitation out of the place of residence.
