Aleksa is the first child born after regularly maintained pregnancy. He was a cheerful and playful child. When he was sixteen months old, he got bronchitis and he was hospitalized. His blood count then showed increased  levels of CK enzyme, which was a sign that there was a problem, and further examination and testing was underway.

The final diagnosis was Dischen's muscular dystrophy, a severe, progressive genetic disease. From that moment  Aleksa's struggle began.

His brother and sister are his greatest support. Aleksa is slowly losing the ability to walk so he had  to use a neurological wheelchair. To keep the disease under control, he takes large doses of corticosteroids and various supplements. His condition is deteriorating rapidly.

However, it is a very severe and progressive disease that affects muscles and respiratory organs so in order to slow down further  progression of the disease Aleksa needs funds for orthopedic aids, physical therapies, laboratory analyzes, supplements, medications,  medical supplies and for rehabilitation in spas too.
