raises funds for Teodor Janošević (2008)

Teodor was born on 23 March  2008 in Belgrade. He spent the first three months at the intensive care unit of the Institute for Mother and Child Health Care "Dr Vukan Cupic". He was resuscitated at birth and his life was also endangered twice.

During his stay in the hospital, he was diagnosed with Epidermolysis bullosa, a rare and severe recessive, genetic disease. In the beginning, the skin and mucous membranes are damaged, and over time, many problems appear, such as anemia, esophageal stenosis, malnutrition, and disability. The skin is so sensitive that wounds also occur when scratching, squeezing, falling, from seams on the clothing, when eating, etc.

Patients are examined daily, wounds are healed and bandages are applied in the morning and in the evening, in order to protect themselves from infections. These treatments last between 3 and 6 hours.

Due to the sensitivity of the skin, those patients are called "butterfly children".

Some costs of treatment are covered by the state, but that is unfortunately far below  his needs.

Teodor needs funds for materials for dressing, rehabilitation, medicines, supplements, vitamins, antibiotic creams, equipment necessary for enteral nutrition, enteral food, physical therapy, medical aids, treatment and other treatment costs.

There is currently no cure for this disease, but this year the first therapy should appear, which would accelerate the healing of the wounds.
