Humanitarian Foundation BUDI HUMAN - Aleksandar Šapić
raises funds for Konstantin Stanojević (2011).
Konstantin has a diagnosis of childhood autism. He was diagnosed when he was four years old. He goes regularly to defectologic and speech therapies, hypotherapy, music workshops and workshops for social skills. Psychomotor development is improving, he has advanced a lot in gross motor skills, understanding, non-verbal communication, he is getting better in fine motor skills. However, he stopped speaking when he was three years old and since then his parents have not heard any word from him.
Konstantin began to change his behavior. He retreated into his world, lost contact with eyes, he delayed in speech development, acting in stereotypical behaviour. His parents insisted on examination and pediatrician recommended the Institute of Mental Health, where it was confirmed that he delayed in development and Konstantin was prescribed defectologic treatments but only once a week.
With three and a half years, Konstantin lost his speech completely. A series of laboratory analyzes confirmed that Konstantin had no enzymes for the decomposition of gluten and casein. Since then, he's on a special diet. Then a period of progress began. He made eye contact, stereotyped actions were reduced, understanding progressed, he was executing tasks, gross and fine motor skills were improving, nonverbal communication improved, while speech was still absent.
Stem cells treatment from the bone marrow will give Konstantin the chance to progress in all aspects of psychomotor development, and there is a possibility that he will be able to speak again.
