Humanitarian Foundation BUDI HUMAN - Aleksandar Šapić
raises funds for Lazar Jovanović (2019).
Lazar was born at the beginning of the ninth month with caesarean section, due to a possible suspicion of a microcephaly that was diagnosed in the eighth month. He spent almost two months in Neonatology department in Novi Sad. The first complications occurred as brain haemorrhage and consciousness crises that led to choking and turning blue in the face, then secretion and water in the lungs and constant life struggle.
MR of the head showed his diagnosis: microcephaly with lissencephaly, a major brain damage caused by a lack of synapses. At that moment the battle for Lazar’s healing began. After leaving the children’s hospital, seizures were stopped, but soon they reappeared to an even more difficult form. Lazar was hospitalized again, where his therapy was changed, but without any visible improvement.
After examining by the neurosurgeon, it was determined that the front fontanelle was closed after only two and a half months, which was very bad for his brain development and that surgery would be necessary.
Lazar’s seizures are expressed in the form of spasms followed by screams and crying, uncontrolled movements of the head, arms and legs. A foam appears in his mouth, and his gaze is empty. All of these happen seven to eight times a day, and each seizure further damages his brain. The consequence is cerebral palsy, epilepsy, mental retardation, and speech impedance.
The family is determined to fight for Lazar in all possible ways, although doctor's prognosis is not encouraging. Let’s provide funds for Lazar’s minimal improvement that will be enabled by Vojta's exercises, work and sensory therapy, rehabilitation in spas, bone marrow transplantation, and stem cell treatment.
Our little help means a lot to Lazar! Let's be humane!
