Humanitarian Foundation BUDI HUMAN - Aleksandar Šapić
raises funds for Filip Ivanović (2010).
Filip was diagnosed with high grade malignant spindle-cell tumor, a type of single-phase synovial sarcoma.
Filip was born in 2010 as a healthy child. He spent his childhood without going to the doctor, carefree and happy, always smiling and ready to play.
The first signs of the disease manifested in late April 2019, when parents noticed a node in the left armpit. The day after, he was transferred from the hospital in Smederevo for treatment to University Children’s hospital Tiršov. After two weeks there, he was not diagnosed and parents, at their request, transferred him to the Institute for Mother and Child. A biopsy was performed immediately and Filip was found to be suffering from Synovial soft tissue sarcoma. Chemotherapy started immediately, but after four cycles of therapy the tumor decreased very little. The surgeon's suggestion was an amputation of the arm.
Filip is currently undergoing treatment in Frankfurt where he is getting targeted (regional) therapy, chemoembolization. Doctors and the family hope the tumor will shrink enough to allow surgery without amputation of the arm.
All the human and good willed people are being asked to help raise money for Filip's continued treatment, surgery and regular check-ups that require significant funding.
