Humanitarian Foundation BUDI HUMAN - Aleksandar Šapić
raises funds for Mihajlo Đumić (2016).
Mihajlo suffers from a malignant brain tumor - Astrocytoma anaplasticum.
He was a lively and cheerful child from birth and there was nothing to suggest that there were symptoms of this vicious disease.
His carefree childhood was abruptly interrupted in mid-October 2019, when parents noticed that his right arm was shaking. After being examined by a neurologist at the hospital in Sremska Mitrovica, he was transferred to the Clinical Center of Serbia - Clinic for Neurosurgery. Examination by the scanner revealed that he had a brain tumor, which was confirmed when he had a head MR. He was immediately implanted with a VP shunt in the left side to undergo surgery on 25 October. However, surgery could not completely remove the tumor, and a histopathological report confirmed that it was one of the most malignant tumors - Astrocytoma anaplasticum, NOS, WHO Gradus III. After the epileptic seizure that followed the surgery, he was implanted with a VP shunt in his right side too.
He is currently receiving radiation therapy at the Institute of Oncology and Radiology of Serbia in Belgrade, which is in the final stages. Chemotherapy will immediately follow after the radiation therapy.
As this is an aggressive type of tumor, with bleak outcome prognosis, it is necessary to continue the treatment abroad. Regarding the fact that this kind of treatment requires a large amount of money that cannot be provided without the help of kind-hearted people, Mihajlo's parents are appealing to all good-willed people to help the little boy win his most important battle - the battle for life. He is in need of funds for further treatment, medication and accommodation abroad.
With faith and hope in the charity of all people who have mercy and humanity in their heart and soul his parents believe in Mihajlo’s strength and hope for his healing.
