Svetlana's main disease is polycystic kidneys, which stopped working in 2011. Because of their size and the problems they caused, they had to be surgically removed. Since then, she has been on a treatment program with regular dialysis every other day in order to stay alive. Hemodialysis treatments are accompanied by numerous complications, hypotension to impending collapse, vomiting, tachycardia with a frequency above 100 rpm. Due to the hypotension (low pressure) that falls below 60/30, it prevents the fluid to be removed with hemodialysis. It remains around the heart and in the lungs, and thus further complicates the health condition with frequent inflammations.

In 2017, Svetlana was operated on the parathyroid gland as a consequence of dialysis, which also created calcifications on blood vessels and bones. That is why she needs an emergency kidney transplant as soon as possible, both because of her age and because of the years she spent on dialysis. Since there is no related living donor, a kidney transplantation must be done abroad.

In addition to kidney transplantation, help is needed for travel expenses for treatment, diagnostics, examinations and medicines.
