Humanitarian Foundation BUDI HUMAN - Aleksandar Šapić
raises funds for Iva Milenkovski (2014).
Iva's struggle started in her mother's womb and she was born ten weeks earlier. The first days of life started with a struggle, first of all for breath. The lack of oxygen, unfortunately, resulted in cerebral palsy. In the second hour of her life, she was separated from her mother and transported to the Children's Hospital to the intensive care unit. When everything seemed to be getting better, information arrived that her condition was deteriorating and that a very resistant bacterium had been isolated in the cerebrospinal fluid and Iva got combined antibiotic therapy, for that reason her liver suffered damage. She spent 54 days at the Institute with accompanying complications.
Iva is now a smiling girl who loves to exercise, enjoys hydro and hippotherapy and adores her therapists. She has achieved a lot, but she is halfway to the desired goal. In order to improve her condition she needs surgery in the USA (selective dorsal rhizotomy - SDR).
For Iva's surgery in the USA and later rehabilitation in Serbia, it is necessary to raise funds. Money is also needed for accommodation and travel expenses, postoperative therapies, orthopedic aids and for the services of special educators too.
All humane people are being invited to participate and help in Iva's struggle, and the family sincerely wants good things to return to all of them.
