Nađa got grade nine at birth. The pregnancy was normal. From birth until February 2020, Nađa did not have any health problems. At the beginning of February, she complained of backache and was hospitalized after only three days. At the Clinical Center of Serbia in Belgrade, neurosurgery clinic, after an MRI of the spine, it was confirmed that she had anaplastic astrocytoma and the operation was immediately performed on 19 February 2020. After the operation, the histopathological finding showed that it was an aggressive tumor - Anaplastic astrocyte who III grade, which due to its aggressive spreading could quickly turn into grade IV.
She had twenty-eight cycles of radiation therapy both with chemotherapy at the Institute of Oncology and Radiology of Serbia in Belgrade, and then six more cycles of chemotherapy. Nevertheless, the tumor spread again due to nerve pressure. For five months now, Nađa has been in a wheelchair. Doctors in Serbia claimed that operations were no longer possible due to the tumor location. The family sought the opinion of doctors from abroad and found the clinic in Turkey, where it was agreed to continue Nađa's treatment.
For now, it has been decided to start chemotherapy for six cycles, and after that, the doctors will decide on further treatment - immunotherapy, physical therapy ...
Nađa needs funds for further treatment abroad. She also needs funds for medicines, medical consumables, orthopedic aids, laboratory analyzes, specialist and control examinations, therapies and to cover travelling costs.
Until now, the family has covered the costs for all therapies and treatment, however, the costs of treatment abroad and travelling there exceed their income.
