raises funds for Sofija Nekić (2012).

Sofija was born on 16 January 2012 in the 40th gestational week of pregnancy after a controlled, high-risk pregnancy by caesarean section. Due to the deformity of both feet and the adipose tissue at the bottom of the spine, on the third day after her birth, she was referred to the University Children's Clinic in Tirsova.

During detailed examinations, Sofija was diagnosed with Agenesis of the sacrum (lack of the sacral part of the spine), a rare disease. It is a quite unknown disease and doctors in our country don’t have experience with it. However Sofia showed that she was a great fighter and she overcame many problems.

In the fifth month, she operated on atresia of the anus, and two years ago on the right leg. Due to the weak innervation of the legs, she is now waiting for surgery on both legs. Sofija walks, but with a changed walking pattern, which causes scoliosis of the spine. In order to stop being bent, she must exercise intensively every day, and she needs frequent rehabilitation in the country and abroad.

The biggest problem is her neurogenic bladder, which she has to catheterize 5 to 6 times during the day, and her parents purchase the catheters and the medicines she needs. Sofija has a strong intolerance to gluten (positive genetics for celiac disease) and has been on a strict diet for more than three years. Due to frequent and severe pain, she must have a special diet. Atopic dermatitis occasionally causes her  problems and she must use special baths, shampoos and creams.

Despite all the problems, Sofija is a smiling, relaxed, cheerful and smart girl.

Sofija needs funds for treatment, specialist examinations, rehabilitation in the country and abroad, medicines, supplements, medical supplies, orthopedic aids, spa treatment, and funds for travelling and accommodation costs.

In order to be more independent and to prevent disease from worsening her condition, Sofija needs our help.
