raises funds for Ognjen Jerković (2017).

Ognjen was born on 12 July 2017 in Belgrade. He is the fifth and youngest child in the family. Unfortunately, during the birth he suffered trauma, he was intubated and transferred to a respirator. Due to the injuries he suffered, his life was endangered and his health was permanently damaged.

After his health stabilized, he was transferred to the Institute for Health Protection of Mother and Child of Serbia "Dr Vukan Cupic", where he was thoroughly examined. Specialist examinations revealed that Ognjen had Dg.Q04.8 Malformations cerebri congenitae aliae (mesial temporal sclerosis, brain hernia) G40.9 Epilepsy, F83 Disordines evolutionis specifici mixti (disharmonious development, mixed specific developmental disorders).

The daily struggle then followed ... Physical therapies, a multitude of medications that Ognjen had to take every day in order to survive.

Ognjen started  walking with hard work, but with difficulty. From March this year, he started complaining of a daily headache that woke him up, with the urge to vomit. His mother noticed changes in behavior (laughing for no reason, absence).

Daily epileptic seizures started, followed by paralysis of the left arm and left leg, fixing the gaze to the left side. The seizures lasted about 1 minute, and during the day he would have one to three seizures. Ognjen became unstable when walking, his left arm and leg were less useful.

The doctor suggested that Ognjen should have a brain surgery as soon as possible (removal of the hernia, which he has had since birth), which would be done abroad.

The parents have financed the treatment so far  and have exhausted all resources, so they are asking all humane people to help them so that Ognjen can go abroad for surgery as soon as possible.

He needs funds for treatment, surgery, rehabilitation, check-ups, physical, speech therapy and special education treatments, specialist examinations and laboratory analyses, for medicines as well as for travelling and accommodation costs.
