Lenka was born on 12 August 2020 in Belgrade after a properly maintained and controlled pregnancy, but due to complications that occurred during the birth, she was out of oxygen. She was immediately resuscitated and transferred to the Institute of Neonatology, where her extremely difficult condition was improved. She stayed at the institute for 50 days.

Delays in psychomotor development were noticed, as well as hypo / hypertension of certain muscle groups, due to which Lenka is still not able to turn on her stomach, sit independently, crawl or walk. She is 16 months old and still does not speak, and due to weakened reflexes of sucking and swallowing, feeding is difficult for her and it is mostly done with a gastrostomy.

Despite a very difficult initial condition and poor prognosis, Lenka has so far proved to be a great fighter and thanks to the numerous therapies and treatments she attends, she has made significant progress. Lenka attends intensive physical treatments every day under the supervision of a doctor, exercises with speech therapists, special educators and physiotherapists.

There is a change to the better, but not enough. Lenka and her parents have a long and uncertain road ahead of them. There is no specific cure for her condition or guarantees that her recovery will be complete. Lenka's family wants to persevere in their efforts and enable Lenka a better quality of life.

Medical treatments and therapies exceed their income, so the parents are asking all humane people to help them so that Lenka can continue with her treatment as soon as possible.

She needs funds for specialist and control examinations, physical therapies, special education and speech therapy treatments, craniosacral therapies, hydrotherapy, oxygen therapy, orthopaedic aids, exercise equipment at home, medical supplies, medicines, travelling and accommodation costs.
