raises funds for Kristijan Ilijin (2018)

Kristijan was born after the first, properly controlled and maintained pregnancy.

As a result of a difficult and complicated birth completed with forceps, Kristijan suffered numerous injuries, perinatal asphyxia and  birth trauma.

In the incubator, on oxygen, he was transferred to the children's department of the general hospital in Pancevo, and less than 24 hours after birth he was referred to the University Children's Hospital Tiršov.

In addition to asphyxiation, a fracture of the right clavicle, a cephalhematoma and an injury to the brachial plexus of the right arm were confirmed, where the arm remains paralyzed.

After two weeks, Kristijan was discharged home and began to exercise with a professional physiotherapist, and at the age of one month he was admitted for the first time to physical rehabilitation at the Institute for the Health Care of Mother and Child "Dr. Vukan Čupić", where an EMG was performed, then an MRI of the neck confirmed severe lesion of all roots of the right brachial plexus.

After the examination by the neurosurgeon at Clinical Center of Serbia, he got additional physical treatment.

For the first year, Kristijan has a slight delay in psychomotor development due to asphyxia and practices general development exercises and exercises for brachial plexus injury. Since then, numerous rehabilitations have been carried out at the Institute for Mother and Child Health Care, in Banja Koviljača spa and private clinics.

Then followed surgery, fibrotomy in Russia, and exercises at home.

Kristijan is a cheerful and active child, through rehabilitation he managed to restore some functions, the muscles are hypotrophic and the one hand is shorter compared to a healthy hand, he does not raise his hand to the horizontal, the extreme extension in the elbow and supination of the forearm is limited, the hand is functional.

Further treatment is necessary so that Kristijan can achieve a greater range of motion, preserve muscle and joint mobility, and to prevent further deterioration of hand development.

He needs funds for kinesitherapy, electrotherapy, thermotherapy with paraffin, spa treatment, operations, specialist examinations, physical therapy, hydrotherapy, travelling and accommodation costs.
