raises funds for Stefana Petkovića (2017)

Stefan was born in the 34th week of pregnancy with 1310 grams as the second child of triplets, he was born by emergency caesarean section due to cloudy amniotic fluid between him and his identical twin brother.

Seven days after his birth, he got sepsis and was urgently transferred to the Children's Hospital, where necrosis of the small intestine was diagnosed. He was operated on the same evening and had an ileostomy and 50 cm of the small intestine was removed.

The operation to close the ileostomy was three months after the first operation, but unfortunately it was unsuccessful, so a new ileostomy was opened after 12 days. The final closure of the ileostomy was in his 15th month. All that had an effect on his body, as a result of which he still wears diapers and is on a special diet because his body does not accept certain foods.

During his stay in the hospital, he was out of oxygen, which left serious consequences.

Delay was quickly noticed in his development. The physiatrist suspected unilateral cerebral palsy, which was confirmed by specialist examinations. Despite all the work and physical therapy, Stefan made his first steps at the age of 2.5, but his right hand still does not have full function, it only serves him as a helping hand sometimes, his hand is in a spasm without fine motor skills, which is why he wears an orthosis on it.

During regular check-ups, the neurologist noticed stereotyped actions, absence of eye contact, non-response to calls and absence of speech, so he was diagnosed with the autism spectrum - F84.9.

He was immediately involved in intensive speech therapy and special private treatment, Stefan is still non-verbal and completely not independent.

With the help of physical treatments and tomatis, his understanding is better, he makes eye contact, responds to his name, expresses emotions and makes connections with his brother and sister. His attention is scattered and his concentration is very weak. His overall development is in delay.

His family is asking all generous people to help Stefan improve health with their donations.

He needs funds for specialist examinations and analyses, physical, speech therapy and defectology treatments, therapeutic riding, medicines, supplements and orthopaedic aids.
