raises funds for Lenka Lazarević (2021)

Lenka was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (Dg.C91.0 Leukemia lymphoblastica acuta [ALL]) in June 2022. She was hospitalized due to fever at the Institute for Health Care of Children and Youth of Vojvodina, when a bone marrow analysis detected high level of  leukocytes and hepatosplenomegaly.

Treatment with cytostatic therapy started immediately at the Institute for Health Care of Children and Youth of Vojvodina in Novi Sad, and after 9 months of intensive hospital treatment and the completion of the induction phase, maintenance therapy  began in February 2023. Just two months later, in April 2023, fever returned and level of leukocytes rapidly increased. Lenka was hospitalized again, and on that occasion, bone marrow and CNS relapse were confirmed.

At the age of less than two, Lenka has been receiving a cytostatic therapy again, and the hope for a cure is a bone marrow transplantation. Since Lenka is classified in the group of high-risk patients due to her young age, very early relapse and considering that there is no related bone marrow donor in the family, Lenka's parents have decided to continue the treatment and do the bone marrow transplantation abroad.

Lenka is a curious, cheerful and smiling child, who enjoys exploring the world around her, playing in the park, running, swinging, cuddling with plush toys, meeting new friends, and most of all she likes playing and running with her two brothers.

Time is crucial in Lenka's battle because she needs to go abroad for treatment as soon as possible.

She needs the funds to continue treatment abroad, to cover costs of bone marrow transplantation,  for specialist examinations, laboratory analyses, medicines, travelling and accommodation costs during the treatment.
