Lena was born prematurely at 36/37th week by cesarean section, she was resuscitated after birth, put on mechanical ventilation for seven days, and she spent a month in the maternity hospital.  Ultrasound and MR examinations detected intracranial bleeding grade II/III, and hypotonia of the whole body.

In 2018, through genetic analysis, it was diagnosed that Lena was the carrier of two chromosomal changes that were the cause of Lena's disease, so testing of both parents was indicated.

Lena started walking at the age of four and a half, but she does not have the ability to run, jump and overcome various obstacles. At the age of five, she had her first epileptic seizure, since then they have been recurring frequently. She has demonstrative gestures, makes social contact, but still does not speak. When she was less than two months old, she started intensive physical therapy, and since the second year she has been involved in intensive speech therapy treatments, sensory integration and exercises for psychomotor development, but her motor skills are significantly below her age.

Until now, the treatment has been financed by her family and has exhausted resources, which is why they are asking all generous people to help them with their donations, in order to give Lena a chance to speak and run like her friends.

She needs funds for speech therapy and defectology treatments, physical therapy and psychological treatments.
