Marko was born in term, by caesarean section. He was born with a severe and rare skin disease. Due to bullous epidermolysis (Dg Q818 Epidermolysis bullosa alia Epidermolysis bullosa in obs), he was referred for further treatment at the Institute for Mother and Child Health Care.

Marko's skin is very sensitive, so the slightest touch causes major damage. Due to the repeated changes in the hands and feet, there was a loss of the nail plates of all the fingers and a partial fusion of the toes. Since birth, Marko has been faced with wounds all over his body and mucous membranes and suffers great pain every day. He has pain while defecating and he can only eat blended food due to narrowing of the oesophagus.

Children suffering from this cruel disease often have infections that lead to complications and fatal outcomes. Epidermolysis bullosa means life in pain, physical disability, and affected persons often develop deadly forms of skin cancer.

The continuation of the treatment requires large expenses, so his family is asking all generous people to help Marko with their donations.

Funds are needed for gene therapy with the medicine Vyuvek, specialist examinations, operative procedures, medical consumables, medical cosmetics, laboratory analyses, travelling and accommodation costs.
