Mateja was born after the second, properly controlled, pregnancy. Due to underdeveloped speech, continuous tiptoeing and stereotyped movements, he was diagnosed with a non-specific pervasive disorder (F84.9 Disordo evolutionis pervasivus, non specificatus) at the age of four. In 2019, after consultation with a neurologist from the USA, PANDAS syndrome was suspected - disorders of the nervous system not classified elsewhere (G98 Disordines nervosi alii non alibi classificati), when recommendations were given for further diagnosis and treatment.

From 2021, he was introduced to corticosteroid therapy and intravenous immunoglobulin therapy for three months, a total of 6 doses. The therapy helped him, he had less stereotypical movements and cooperated better, but this improvement lasted about 2.5 months, and after that his condition gradually worsened, so he needs further tests and treatment that will give better results.

Mateja's parents contacted a doctor from the USA, who is specialised in the treatment of PANDAS syndromes, and received a positive response and willingness to help, but they need significant financial resources to continue the treatment, which his parents are no longer able to provide.

Funds are needed for continued treatment abroad, specialist examinations, laboratory analyses, medicines and supplements.
