Dimitrije was diagnosed with paraplegia (G82.0 Paqraplegia flaccida) and spina bifida (Spina bifida occulta) at birth.

In the 10th month, he had an operative treatment of PEV due to arthrogryposis (Q74.3 Arthrogryposis multiplex congenita), since then he has been regularly monitored by an orthopedist. Based on the clinical findings, operative treatment of the contracture of the right knee was indicated, and the postoperative course went smoothly. At the age of 3, the luxation of the left hip was surgically treated.

At a clinic abroad, he had a reconstructive treatment using the Ilizar’s method, which includes quadriceps plastic surgery.

The deformity of both feet was partially corrected, but the elimination of the flexion contracture of the right hip and knee was not successful, after which there was a relapse. Treatment and rehabilitation did not have a positive effect.

In order to be able to improve the function of his feet and walk independently, it is necessary to have another operation at a private clinic, but considering that the costs of treatment exceed his family income, all generous people are asked to help with their donations.

Funds are needed for operative treatment and for continuous physical therapy.
