Marija's kidney failure was discovered in 2006 when she was eight months pregnant. An ultrasound scan showed a hypertrophic left kidney. Treatment with peritoneal dialysis using the CAPD method started in May 2013, and due to ultrafiltration weakness, she was treated with hemodialysis from April 2014.

In 2015, a cadaver kidney transplant was performed, but a gradual increase in the value of proteinuria was observed. It was decided to perform a biopsy of the transplanted kidney which showed chronic rejection with proven elements of cellular rejection and humoral rejection.

In December 2023, her organism completely rejected the transplanted kidney, which is why Marija is again undergoing hemodialysis 3 times a week and needs to perform a second transplant as soon as possible at a clinic abroad that has a high success rate in this area of treatment.

Since this type of treatment requires considerable funds, Marija needs donations from generous people.

She needs funds for a kidney transplantation, translation services, specialist examinations, medicines, travelling and accommodation expenses during the treatment.
