The first symptoms of the disease such as weakness in the legs, tingling in the feet and bottom appeared in 2014 .

After specialist examinations, she was diagnosed with disc hernia at the L5-S1 level (Hernis disci L5 cum stenosis canalis absoluta).

Treatment was attempted with intensive physical treatments but they did not give any results, and the disease spread to the L4-L5 level.

In August 2023, she had operative treatment of L5 and S1 inter hemilaminectomy in the left side, and microdiscectomy when cauda equina syndrome (Syndrome caudae equinae) was also discovered.

Since the long-term treatment has not led to improvement of Helena's health, the plan is to continue with operative treatment, which will be performed at a clinic abroad.

Since this type of treatment is very expensive, all generous people are asked to help Helena with their donations.

Funds are needed for operative treatment, laser treatments of the bladder, rehabilitation, medicines, specialist examinations, spa treatment, control examinations, orthopedic aids, as well as for travel expenses.
