Stefan is being monitored by several doctors due to suspicion of multiple mitochondrial dysfunction disease (G71.3. Myopathy mitochoodrialis, non alibi classificata).

There is a general developmental delay and Stefan is still unable to walk.

The disease appeared suddenly at the age of 15 months with right-sided weakness preceded by an infection. While in a hosital he had an MRI of the endocranium, which indicated "vanishing white matter disease" with active degeneration of the white matter.

There is still no medicine that would enable a complete recovery, but it is necessary to continue with therapies at a clinic abroad as soon as possible, which would lead to an improvement in his health.

Until now, his family has financed all the treatment costs, but as the costs have increased, he needs help from humane people’s donations.

Funds are needed for mitochondrial cocktail, lokomat, physical treatments, speech therapy treatments, sensory treatments and hippotherapy.
