In 1997, Jelena was diagnosed with chronic kidney weakness when, based on a kidney biopsy, it was concluded that it was lupus nephritis, but at the end of 1998, she was diagnosed with N18.5 Morbus renalis chronicus, grade V.

From 2003 to 2005, she was on a chronic HD program, and in 2005, a cadaveric kidney transplantation was successfully performed in Moscow. She was regularly monitored by a nephrologist, but after 19 years, the transplanted kidney failed, so she was hospitalized in May 2024 at the Nephrology Clinic of the University Hospital of Vojvodina, when preparations for kidney retransplantation began. At the end of May 2024, she was admitted to the Clinic for Nephrology of the Academy of Medical Sciences in order to provide permanent vascular access for chronic treatment with hemodialysis, after which she started HD through the created aVF, 3 times a week for 4 hours. Due to the newly discovered secondary pulmonary hypertension, she still needs cardiological monitoring and control by a pulmonologist.

Jelena needs a kidney transplantation, for that reason she sought help from the Clinic in Belarus, for which she needs significant financial resources, which she is unable to provide. She is also engaged in humanitarian work so she is asking everyone who can to help her, raise the necessary funds as soon as possible so that she can travel first for the preparatory examination and then for the transplantation.

Funds are needed for kidney transplants, specialist examinations and travel expenses for the treatment.
