Ilija was born in term after a properly maintained and controlled pregnancy. At birth, he was out of oxygen, so he was intubated and transferred to the neonatology department of University Children’s Hospital Tiršov, where he spent the next three weeks.

He was diagnosed with epilepsy (G40.5 Syndromata epileptica specifica), mixed developmental disorders (F83 Disordines evolutionis specifici mixti) and spastic (convulsive) paralysis of all limbs (G82.4 Tetraplegia spastica).

Speech therapy, defectology and logopedic treatments, as well as physical therapy, are continuously carried out to help improve his health.

His parents have exhausted their financial resources in the current course of treatment, so they need the help of generous people’s donations to enable Ilija continue treatment, progress in psychomotor development and to have a better future.

Funds are needed for physical therapy, speech therapy and defectology treatments, orthopedic aids, medical devices, specialist examinations, laboratory analyses, and stem cell treatments.
