Jovana suffers from cerebral palsy with a diagnosis of spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy (G80.0 Paralysis cerebralis spastica quadriplegica), epilepsy with a diagnosis of idiopathic focal epilepsy and epileptic syndromes with focal seizure (G40.0 Epilepsia idiopathica (focalis) (partialis) et syndromata epileptica cum impetu focali) and diagnoses of other disorders of speech and language development (F80.8 Disordines evolutionis orationis et linguae alii).

Jovana is the first twin born after the first regularly controlled, normal pregnancy, born in the 34th week. She spent the first days at the Institute of Neonatology in Belgrade. She has been monitored by a multidisciplinary team since infancy, and the cause of her condition is still unknown. A genetic test was performed, which did not confirm the genetic basis of the disease.

Jovana has been undergoing intensive physiatry and stimulation treatments since she was three months old at the Institute for Healthcare of Children and Youth of Vojvodina in Novi Sad. Due to the general developmental deviation, she still does not have full control of his head, does not sit, crawl or walk, while she has a few words in her vocabulary. She is monitored by neurologists, physiatrists, cardiologists, ophthalmologists, and epileptologists. She is included in defectological and stimulating treatments at the place of residence, and habilitation therapy in a specialized hospital-type institution.

Until now, her parents have financed the treatment costs and exhausted all their resources, therefore they are asking all generous and humane people to help.

Funds are needed for rehabilitation, medical and orthopedic aids, specialist examinations, medicines, supplements and medical consumables.
