In the sixth month, Iliana was operated on by a cardiac surgeon due to a congenital heart defect of the VSD type. On the same day, she was transferred to the semi-intensive care unit, where it was noticed that she was unable to move her right arm and right leg. An emergency echocardiographic examination and a brain CT were performed, which showed a zone of ischemia on the left in the region of the putamen and insula, after which Iliana was returned to intensive care, where antiedematous therapy started. She was diagnosed with hemiplegia (G81.1 hemiplegia spastica) and a defect in the septum of the heart chambers (Q21.0 Defectus septi ventriculorum cordis).

She was regularly monitored by a neurologist clinically and with EEG, was introduced to AE therapy, which was discontinued in July 2024.

Since February 2024, physical treatments as well as occupational and hydrotherapy have been intensively carried out, but motor imbalance and lack of speech are still present.

In order to improve Ilijana's health, it is necessary to carry out continuous treatment to improve motor skills in the country and abroad.
