raises funds for Aleksandra Mikić (2000).

On 23 September 2024 Aleksandra was hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the Clinic for Infectious and Tropical Diseases. The conducted diagnostics revealed inflammation of the brain (Encephalitis) with serological positivity in the blood and cerebrospinal fluid for Mycoplasma pneumoniae and WNV virus (West Nile Virus).

The clinical picture indicated involvement of the brain stem with a disturbance of consciousness to the level of coma, with extinguished reflexes of the brain stem, the development of respiratory insufficiency due to which she was dependent on a ventilator and she also had acute renal insufficiency. She was controlled several times by a neurologist with the use of antiepileptic therapy.

During hospitalization, she had multiple septic conditions caused by gram-negative bacteria. Due to prolonged dependence on a respirator, she was tracheostomized.

With all the applied treatment measures and implementation of rehabilitation, a certain stabilization occurred, an alert-conscious state with non-verbal contact was established. Aleksandra breathes spontaneously on the cannula, she has a nasogastric tube placed. Spastic quadriplegia is also present.

It is necessary for Aleksandra to continue her treatment at a clinic abroad as soon as possible, and in order to raise the necessary funds, all generous people are invited to help with their donations.

Funds are needed for specialist examinations, rehabilitation, as well as travel and accommodation costs during the treatment.
