Milija was diagnosed with non-specific tetraplegia at the beginning of 2025, although he hasn’t been finally diagnosed.

The first symptoms of the disease began at high school in the form of tremors of the limbs and head, and over the years the disease progressed and he had frequent fractures. As a consequence of the progression of the systemic disease, tetraplegia manifests itself as a partial paralysis of the muscles of the whole body, as a result of which he has limited mobility, moving only with the help of aids and an EM wheelchair. There are vision and hearing problems, difficulty swallowing, progressive weakening of bladder and bowel sphincter control, a subjective feeling of pain in the whole body, as well as hypoesthesia of the right side of the face, both hands, the lateral sides of the lower legs and feet.

In addition to rehabilitation that includes physical therapy, Milija also needs additional diagnostics, specialized therapies that can slow down the progression of the disease and improve the quality of life, medications and supplementation that are not covered by health insurance, as well as logistical help related to treatment.

Funds are needed for additional diagnostics, specialist examinations, laboratory analyses, spa treatment, rehabilitation and physical therapy, medicines, supplements, medical consumables and medical transport.
