In 2017, Marko was injured in a traffic accident as a passenger in a car.

He was primarily cared for in the Varaždin Spa where he was diagnosed with spastic (convulsive) paralysis of all limbs (G82.4 Tetraplegia spastica).

After being admitted to the Clinical Center, he was transferred to the trauma clinic of the same institution in Zagreb the same night, where a C5 corpectomy, corticospongioplasty and anterior spondylodesis of C3-C7 with discectomies were performed, followed by a tracheostomy.

After 6 months of treatment in the Varaždin spa and other health institutions, Marko was fitted with an electrostimulator for his hands at a clinic abroad.

He needs to continue stem cell treatment as soon as possible. The plan is to install electrostimulators on the legs when the blood pressure stabilizes.

Funds are needed for stem cell treatments and adaptation of electrostimulation programs as well as travel expenses during the treatment.
