During an ENT examination, Uroš was diagnosed with bilateral sensorineural hearing loss (H90.3 Surditas sensorineuralis bilateralis in obs), as well as chronic secretory otitis (H65.2 Otitis media serosa chronica), which further complicates the development of speech and communication. Audiological testing confirmed a permanent high-degree hearing impairment, which is why bilateral hearing amplification has been indicated, with the possibility of further interventions such as a cochlear implant.

After detailed genetic and specialist examinations, the presence of genetic changes significantly affecting his development was identified. Variants in the GJB2 gene were registered, which are associated with hearing impairment, as well as a pathogenic duplication on chromosome 4 (4q31.1) involving part of the NAA15 gene, which may be linked to developmental delay and neurological difficulties.

Uroš shows significant delays in speech development and response to auditory stimuli, which is why urgent inclusion in specialized treatments, continuous monitoring, and a multidisciplinary approach to treatment are necessary.

Given the complexity of his medical condition and the need for long-term treatment, significant financial resources are required to ensure all necessary examinations and therapies.

Funds are needed for gene therapy, stem cell treatments, travel expenses, and accommodation costs during treatment.
