The humanitarian foundation BUDI HUMAN – Aleksandar Šapić
is raising funds for Ivana Dunić (1972).

Ivana has been diagnosed with chronic kidney failure (N18.5 Morbus renalis chronicus, stage 5). Her battle with this illness has lasted since her youth – she has suffered from chronic glomerulonephritis (N06.9) since the age of 16.

Due to the deterioration of her kidney function, she began hemodialysis treatment on February 13, 2003, and already in March 2004, she underwent a kidney transplant, with her father as the donor. Thanks to the transplant, Ivana lived a relatively stable life for many years.

Unfortunately, after nearly 20 years, chronic rejection of the transplanted kidney occurred, leading to a complete loss of its function. Since January 2024, Ivana has once again been included in a regular hemodialysis program. As part of her further treatment, a new kidney transplant is planned, and preparations for the transplant at a clinic abroad are scheduled for April 14, 2026.

Given the severity of her condition, significant financial resources are required for the continuation of her treatment. Ivana is a doctor, and she needs the help of all compassionate people through donations so she can recover and continue her humanitarian profession.

Funds are needed for the transplant, medications, specialist and follow-up examinations, laboratory analyses, rehabilitation, as well as accommodation and travel expenses during treatment.
