is raising funds for Nina Nikitović (2023).

Nina’s illness first appeared in April 2024, when she was only four months old, through symptoms of vomiting and drowsiness. After diagnostic procedures, she was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor (C71.0 – malignant neoplasm of the brain, excluding lobes and ventricles).

Nina underwent two surgeries at University Clinical Center of Serbia, where endoscopic fenestration and tumor resection were performed. The histopathological findings showed an atypical teratoid/rhabdoid tumor (ATRT), CNS WHO grade IV — an extremely rare and aggressive form of central nervous system tumor.

Her treatment continued with chemotherapy at the Institute for Oncology and Radiology of Serbia, followed by high-dose chemotherapy with autologous stem cell transplantation at the Institute for Mother and Child, as well as proton radiation therapy abroad.

Due to the severity of the disease and the prolonged treatment, Nina is facing significant developmental challenges. She does not speak, sit independently, crawl, or walk. She is currently undergoing rehabilitation and attends daily physical therapy, speech therapy, and special education treatments.

The family has so far financed the treatment on their own, but the costs are extremely high and ongoing, so they are appealing to all compassionate people for donations to help Nina continue the therapies that are crucial for her recovery.

Funds are needed for physical therapy, speech therapy and special education treatments, BDA therapy, hydrotherapy, orthopedic aids, a TheraTogs suit, hippotherapy, as well as travel expenses.
