Milica has been diagnosed with glioblastoma (IDH‑wildtype, CNS WHO grade 4), an aggressive and rapidly progressive brain tumor (C71.1 – Neoplasma malignum cerebri, lobi frontalis). The disease was discovered after a traffic accident in which Milica was involved, when emergency imaging revealed an expansive parasagittal frontal tumor lesion affecting the rostrum, genu, and splenium of the corpus callosum, with intratumoral hemorrhage.

Following additional CT and MRI scans, the presence of a neoplastic lesion requiring urgent neurosurgical treatment was confirmed. On April 9th, 2026, Milica underwent a complex surgery — craniotomy with resection and reduction of the tumor in the frontal lobe and corpus callosum, followed by dural reconstruction and stabilization of the bone flap. The operation was successful, and Milica was postoperatively conscious, oriented, and without major neurological deficits.

During her hospital stay, she was treated in the intensive care unit and later in the neurosurgery ward. Due to cerebrospinal fluid leakage at the surgical site, several diagnostic and therapeutic lumbar punctures were performed. The wound eventually stabilized, and Milica began early physical rehabilitation and gradual mobilization.

After completing surgery, Milica started the standard treatment protocol — chemotherapy and radiotherapy at the University Clinical Center of Serbia. The next step in her treatment plan is to continue therapy abroad, through personalized immunotherapy and advanced diagnostic procedures, which offer an additional chance in her fight against this severe disease.

Funds are needed for personalized immunotherapy and advanced diagnostics, specialist examinations, laboratory analyses, travel expenses, and accommodation during treatment.

The cost of treatment far exceeds the family’s financial capabilities, which is why help from compassionate people is urgently needed.
