Asja has been diagnosed with epilepsy (G40 Epilepsia), convulsive status (F44.5 Convulsiones dissociative), and reactive stress disorder (F43.0 Reactio stressogenes acuta). An MRI scan of the brain revealed focal changes in the white matter of the cerebrum (suspected demyelinating lesions or sequelae of vasculitis), which require continuous neurological monitoring and therapy.

Asja has been hospitalized multiple times due to convulsive seizures and epileptic crises, often accompanied by loss of consciousness and requiring urgent medical intervention. During one scheduled examination, she experienced an epileptic seizure with generalized tonic-clonic convulsions, after which she was immediately transferred to the intensive care unit. She has been treated several times at the University Children’s Hospital in Belgrade, where diagnostic procedures, EEG recordings, and therapy were carried out. The seizures occasionally recur, and Asja remains under constant supervision by neurologists, anesthesiologists, and psychiatrists.

Doctors have recommended continued neurological and psychiatric monitoring, as some of the episodes are non-epileptic in nature and require additional diagnostics and psychological support.

Asja’s family faces significant medical expenses that exceed their financial means, and they are appealing to all kind-hearted people for help through donations.

Funds are needed for continued treatment abroad, specialist examinations, medical and orthopedic aids, medical devices, diapers, travel expenses, and accommodation costs during treatment.
