is raising funds for Branko Glamočak (1986).

Branko has been diagnosed with chronic kidney failure, stage 5 (N18.5 Morbus renalis chronicus, gradus V), nephrotic syndrome due to diffuse mesangioproliferative glomerulonephritis (N04.3 Glomerulonephritis mesangioproliferativa diffusa), essential hypertension (I10 Hypertensio arterialis essentialis), hyperlipidemia (E78.5 Hyperlipidaemia, non specificata), anemia in chronic disease (D63.8 Anaemia in morbis chronicis), and renal osteodystrophy (N25.0 Osteodystrophia renalis).

His kidney disease was first diagnosed in 2008, when a kidney biopsy confirmed IgA nephropathy. He was treated according to the Locatelli protocol, after which remission was achieved. However, in the following years, his kidney function gradually deteriorated, and after a COVID‑19 infection in 2021, the disease progressed rapidly, leading to a significant decline in renal function.

In January 2022, Branko was hospitalized again due to worsening nephrotic syndrome and azotemia. In July 2024, due to terminal kidney failure, he was admitted for the creation of an arteriovenous fistula (AVF) as preparation for hemodialysis. He is currently dependent on regular dialysis treatments and has severely impaired overall health.

In February 2026, he underwent a complete parathyroidectomy as a consequence of long‑standing kidney disease and severe secondary hyperparathyroidism. Due to the progression of his condition, Branko has been on disability pension since March 2026.

His only long‑term chance for recovery, stabilization of his health, and a return to a better quality of life is kidney transplantation. Because of the high cost of transplantation abroad, it is necessary to raise funds to enable him to continue treatment.

Funds are needed for specialist examinations, laboratory analyses, kidney transplantation, postoperative treatment, as well as travel and accommodation expenses during the treatment process.
