Danica’s battle began in February 2018, when she was diagnosed with a WHO grade 1 pilocytic astrocytoma of the central nervous system, which was treated surgically. Following the surgery, she developed weakness on the right side of her body, right facial nerve paresis, and visual field impairment. In February 2019, she underwent Gamma Knife radiosurgery due to residual tumor tissue, after which her neurological condition remained relatively stable for several years. She has undergone regular follow-up examinations, including MRI scans and neurosurgical consultations. A specialist medical report from March 2026 lists the diagnosis C71.2 – Malignant neoplasm of the temporal lobe of the brain, status post surgery, along with diagnoses related to spastic hemiparesis and epilepsy.

A follow-up MRI examination performed at the beginning of 2026 showed an increase in the volume of the cystic component of the tumor lesion, making further neurosurgical evaluation and continuation of treatment necessary. Danica experiences headaches, numbness and weakness on the right side of her body, as well as epileptic seizures and other neurological symptoms.

Danica wishes to continue her treatment abroad, in Germany, where surgical treatment has been recommended. A complex resection of the tumor lesion is planned using modern and innovative techniques, with the aim of maximizing the protection and preservation of her speech functions and the already impaired motor function of the right side of her body.

She needs financial support for surgical treatment and hospitalization abroad, pathological analysis, specialist and follow-up examinations, laboratory tests, medications, supplements, medical supplies, rehabilitation, translation of medical documentation, as well as travel and accommodation expenses.
