In September 2023, Kristina was diagnosed with malignant cancer of the rectosigmoid colon (C19 Neoplasma malignum juncturae coli rectosigmoidis), with disease progression to the liver, lungs, and ovaries. After the initial surgery involving rectal resection and liver biopsy, the disease continued to advance, accompanied by ascites and severe abdominal pain, which led to her referral for further treatment at the University Clinical Center Niš.

Upon admission, ascitic fluid puncture was performed, and the gynecological council recommended exploratory laparotomy with maximal cytoreduction. On July 17th, 2026, Kristina underwent a complex surgical procedure that included relaparotomy, bilateral adnexectomy (removal of both ovaries), subtotal hysterectomy, omentectomy, adhesiolysis, abdominal cavity drainage, and treatment of the tumor bed with fibrin material due to bleeding.

During surgery, both ovaries were found to be completely infiltrated by tumor tissue, with a large amount of ascites present, as well as numerous adhesions between the intestines and the anterior abdominal wall. Postoperative recovery included continuous ascites drainage, antibiotic therapy, anticoagulants, analgesics, and albumin supplementation.

Kristina was discharged hemodynamically stable, but she requires continued intensive oncological treatment and monitoring, as she is facing advanced metastatic disease.

Further treatment abroad has been recommended, where innovative therapy was proposed after reviewing her medical documentation. Due to extremely high treatment costs, assistance from compassionate donors is urgently needed.

Funds are required for continued oncological treatment, specialist and follow‑up examinations, laboratory analyses, therapies, hospital care, and postoperative recovery.
