is raising funds for Petar Starčević (2024).

Petar has been diagnosed with spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy (G80.0 Paralysis cerebralis spastica quadriplegica), specific mixed developmental disorders (F83 Disordines evolutionis specifici mixti) and delayed psychophysiological development (R62.9 Insufficientia evolutionis physiologicae). Petar was born prematurely, at 29+4 gestational weeks.

During the neonatal period, he faced numerous complications: respiratory distress (P22.0), perinatal infection (P39.9), neonatal jaundice (P59.0), anemia (P61.2), grade II intraventricular hemorrhage (P52.0) and cystic periventricular leukomalacia (P91.1). Due to prematurity and neurological injury, his development has been monitored from the earliest days of life.

Follow‑up examinations revealed significant motor delay, limited mobility of the extremities, pronounced hypertonia, difficulties with postural reactions, and delays in speech and coordination. Petar does not sit or stand independently, bears weight on his toes, and sphincter control has not been established. Developmental scales indicate uneven psychomotor progress.

Petar has been included in continuous rehabilitation from early infancy. He regularly attends physical therapy sessions, and his parents work with him daily at home. With intensive effort, Petar is making progress, but it is slow and requires long‑term, everyday habilitation to preserve and improve his abilities.

For further improvement, therapy must be carried out regularly and without interruption, as only consistent work enables motor development and prevents deterioration.
