is raising funds for Aleksandar Strajin (1989).

Aleksandar sustained fractures of the cervical vertebrae C4, C5, C6 and C7 (S12.2 Fractura vertebrae cervicalis aliae specificatae) after diving into shallow water (W16.11 Diving or jumping into water causing injury).

Following the injury, Aleksandar received emergency care at the General Hospital in Senta and was then transferred to the Institute of Orthopedic Surgery “Banjica,” where comprehensive clinical, radiological and laboratory diagnostics were performed. A specialist spinal council recommended urgent surgical treatment. The procedure included spinal cord decompression with anterior fusion across multiple levels, vertebroplasty, C7 corporectomy, and cervical spine stabilization, followed by placement of a cervical orthosis. Aleksandar required mechanical ventilation for 120 hours and continued treatment in the intensive care unit.

After stabilization, Aleksandar began a long rehabilitation process. He has undergone several months of intensive therapy, yet still has significant limitations in mobility and function of his extremities. Advanced neurorehabilitation is necessary for further recovery.

Specialists have recommended continuing treatment abroad, including epidural stimulation for upper and lower extremities, as well as a remapping and regenerative medicine program, therapies that can significantly improve Aleksandar’s functional abilities and quality of life.

Funds are needed for surgical treatment and rehabilitation, travel expenses, and accommodation during the course of treatment.
