Humanitarian Foundation BUDI HUMAN – Aleksandar Šapić raises funds for the treatment of Anastasia Kostić (2010).

Anastasija survived a severe car accident when she was only three months old. She suffered a skull fracture, which caused internal bleeding in the brain (cerebral infarction).

As a result, she has brain atrophy and optic nerve atrophy, which have left her blind and caused damage throughout her brain. She also has post-traumatic hydrocephalus. Through tremendous effort and specialized treatment, she has learned to walk. She is unable to speak due to the extent of her injuries and requires speech therapy. Thanks to these treatments, her comprehension has improved, and she is now able to pronounce some words.

All treatment options available for Anastasija in Serbia have been exhausted.

Following her surgeries, Anastasija continues to make progress, and each subsequent procedure brings further improvement. However, she still faces many difficult challenges on her road to recovery.

The funds are needed to cover the costs of specialist medical examinations, stem cell treatment, speech therapy, ophthalmic procedures, medications, orthopedic aids, rehabilitation, dolphin-assisted therapy, as well as travel expenses.
