In July 2014, Marija suffered a serious traffic accident while she was on vacation in Tunisia when the vehicle suddenly went off the road. She suffered severe neck fractures  and remained completely disabled.

Half a year she was on breathing apparatus, she could not swallow, eat, sit or talk. She was operated in Tunisia, she was treated for at least eight months at the Military Medical Academy, then five months at a hospital in Smederevo and about three months at the Special Rehabilitation Hospital.

After gradual and strenuous exercises she was removed from the respiratory apparatus, but since then she has a tracheal cannula due to a weakened cough reflex and paralyzed muscles and she is aspirated and depends on the aspirator too.

She does not feel anything from the neck down, she is completely disabled and has no control over the bladder and intestines.

But now she needs our help.

In order to improve Marija's condition, she needs stem cell treatment in Moscow and intensive exercises in US recovery centers.
