On March 12, 2014, Željko had a heart attack. During reanimation, there were serious complications when his brain was severely damaged.

Since that March 12 Željko has a diagnosis: permanent vegetative state with almost non-functional kidneys and liver.

Željko has been at home treatment for several years now, where his parents work with him every day because they don't have money for therapists. Through joint work and effort, they have achieved that he is no longer fed by the probe, that the exercises with his right hand relieved the spasm, he was removed from the breathing apparatus. He can eat through the mouth, he can see, hear and react.

In order to keep his condition stable, he needs a stronger aspirator, an adequate bed, wheelchair, catheter, gauze and physical therapy.
