Luka was born after a regular twin pregnancy. He was born prematurely, and during the birth he experienced asphyxia, which resulted in damage of CNS. In the first month, he had a brain hemorrhage and was diagnosed with hydrocephalus. He was operated on when he was one and a half months old and had a VP Shunt implanted. During the first two years, he was diagnosed with dyskinetic cerebral palsy (Dg. Paralysis cerebralis dyskinetica). Then followed additional complications such as hearing damage, for that reason he used hearing aids, but his speech did not develop. He also had a cochlear implant, so his understanding got better, but his speech has not developed.

Luka attends a special school for elementary education and achieves great results, but an assistive technology is necessary for his literacy and better communication. 

In addition to funds for regular physical therapy, spa rehabilitation, specialist examinations, orthopedic aids, defectology and speech therapy treatments, he also needs funds for the purchase of assistive technology (Tobii Communicator - a software package for assisted communication), which is necessary for his further progress and development.
