After finishing elementary school, Olivera went to treatment at an Orthopedic Clinic in Banjica, Belgrade, with a diagnosis of kyphoscoliosis. Treatment began in September 1999, due to severe pain and excessive curvature of the spine.

The first operation was on 28 September 1999, and the second was on 19 October 1999. After spending three months in a hospital in Banjica, Olivera went  for home treatment with a plaster cast which was put off and on every  three months. After removing the plaster in 2000 with a proposal for a spa treatment, Olivera hoped to go to Koviljaca spa for recovery in November.

Upon returning from the spa, the condition worsened, severe pain and difficult walking reappeared. In December 2000, Olivera went to regular check-up at the Banjica Hospital when a third operation was urgently performed, when a rod which had been previously  implanted in the spine (Harrington rod), had been removed because her health started to deteriorate (inability to walk, impaired bladder and bowel discharges and severe pain were the symptoms). Magnetic resonance  was performed and a tumor in the spinal cord was detected in the TH 11-L3 region.

The fourth operation was on 12 February  2001. at the Neurosurgery Clinical Center of Serbia. This is followed by a long rehabilitation for three years at the Miroslav Zotovic Clinic in Belgrade.

In 2016, magnetic resonance scan in Niš confirmed that Olivera’s health is in bad condition. The   disease had progressed. Since then, every day is a difficult fight, her health condition  complicated further. She got decubitus wounds, one after another; there are five now and they are very deep. They require bandaging several times a day and she has also got severe anemia. As the costs are too high and Olivera's income is insufficient to cover it, she is asking all the good people to donate funds as much as they can.
