Nikola used to be engaged in many different activities in nature such as hiking, skiing, rowing ...

On April 25, 2018. he had a traffic accident during the bike ride. He didn’t notice a truck that had  suddenly stopped in front of him and ran into it. On that occasion, he got fractures of the spinal column in the chest area and since then he was not able to move the body under the chest muscles. He was diagnosed with paraplegia.

He also got rib fractures, and his fingers were broken too, but those injuries were healed.

He completed the rehabilitation at the Military Medical Academy (MMA) and partly at the Dr Miroslav Zotović Clinic.

Rehabilitation lasted nearly a year. Nikola is getting used to these new life conditions, but the diagnosis has remained unchanged. Doctors in Serbia, at this stage, have no knowledge or methods to help him further.

In the meantime, Nikola has chosen sports that are adapted for people with disabilities, and currently he takes up  basketball in a wheelchair and cycling, when he uses his hands, all for the sake of health and encouragement for further recovery.

One of the methods which is suggested and that should help him is stem cell therapy.
